Countryside Live is a country fair for school children organised by The Countryside Foundation for Education (CFE). It is a fun and educational event, with links to the National Curriculum and covers areas like new life and growth, people and places, caring and products and materials. A number of organisations attend the event and present hands-on practical learning experiences for the children that will introduce them to aspects of the Countryside, Farming, Food and Environment.

The CFE, together with partner organisations has been running these events since 2000. 2005 saw a very busy year with three such events, one in Merseyside at Haydock Park Racecourse, one in Hampshire at Staunton Country Park and one in London at Lee Valley Park.

In 2008, we shall be following the 2006 and 2007 format and running two Countryside Live events. One in Yorkshire, for the third time, at the Ledston Estate, near Castleford on Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22 May and the other at Lee Valley Park, Leyton, East London now in its sixth year, on Thursday 25 and Friday 26 September.

Both of these events will complement the “Learning Outside the Classroom Manifesto”, which was launched in November 2006, recognising the importance and value of learning outside the classroom for children and young people. Countryside Live provides a first class outdoor learning experience.
