As you will be aware the press are calling Human influenza A type H1N1, which has been circulating in Mexico and is now spreading, Swine Flu, but this strain of HINI does not appear to be present in pigs in the UK or anywhere else in the EU and there have been no reports of unusual disease in pig herds.

The Leeds DEFRA Office have advised us that there is currently nothing to worry about with regards to pigs spreading the disease, there are no restrictions on the movement or showing of pigs at present.

So we still plan to have a couple of pigs at the event, but of course will monitor the situation.
